Scanner Lighting and Layout
Set up a capture so OCR has the best chance to read names correctly.
Scanner Lighting and Layout
Most scanner problems start before OCR runs. A clean capture gives the review step better card names.
Use Even Light
Avoid glare across card names. Bright indirect light is better than a harsh reflection. If sleeves are glossy, tilt the cards or the camera slightly until the title line is readable.
Align The Grid
Cards should sit inside the grid guides with enough spacing that names do not overlap. Crooked cards can still work, but straight lines make review faster.
Capture Names, Not Art
The name line matters more than the art box. If the name is blurred or cut off, ScryBrew may guess from incomplete text.
Expect Review
Scanning is not a magic truth machine. Treat it as a fast capture assistant. Review uncertain cards, fix weak matches, and only save cards you trust.
