Essential Magic Terms
ScryBrew uses common Magic terms because the app is built around real paper deck building.
Commander
A commander is the legendary creature or allowed commander card that defines a Commander deck's color identity and can be cast from the command zone under Commander rules.
Color Identity
Color identity is broader than mana cost. It includes mana symbols and rules text that define which cards can appear in a Commander deck.
Mana Curve
Mana curve describes how your deck's mana values are distributed. A curve is useful only when paired with roles, lands, and timing.
Oracle Text
Oracle text is the official current rules text for a card. Printed text can be outdated.
Legality
Legality is format-specific. Always check current Wizards rules and banned/restricted references before tournament use.
