Collection Value Basics
Read collection value without confusing estimates, prices, and realized money.
Collection Value Basics
Collection value is an estimate, not cash in your hand.
Market Value
Market value uses available price data to estimate what cards may be worth. It can change quickly, and it may not reflect fees, shipping, condition, language, foil status, or actual buyer demand.
Cost Basis
Cost basis is what you paid or allocated to a card. It comes from your own records, not from today's market.
Realized Proceeds
Realized proceeds are what you actually received from a sale or trade. This is different from both market value and cost basis.
Why ScryBrew Separates Them
A finance tool is trustworthy when it does not blur estimates with facts. Use value for awareness, ledger entries for history, and disposition records for actual outcomes.
