Building Your First Deck

Use Auto Brew or the manual workbench to move from card pool to playable list.

Building Your First Deck

ScryBrew gives you two deck-building paths: Auto Brew for a guided first draft and Manual mode for tuning the list yourself.

Start With The Format

Pick the format first. Commander, Standard, Modern, Pioneer, Pauper, Limited, and casual kitchen-table decks ask different questions about deck size, sideboards, commanders, color identity, and card legality.

Use Auto Brew When You Want A First Draft

Auto Brew asks for format, commander when the format needs one, theme, budget and deck-size preferences, includes/excludes, and how strongly to prefer cards in your collection. It should return a deck plan with card reasons, legality notes, role balance, mana notes, and warnings when the card pool cannot satisfy a constraint cleanly.

Auto Brew should not invent cards. Recommendations should resolve to real Scryfall-backed cards.

Use Manual Mode When You Want Control

Manual mode is for direct list editing. Start from an existing deck, open an Auto Brew result, tune mainboard and sideboard, adjust lands, and save only when the deck is ready.

Check Legality Before A Tournament

ScryBrew can flag common construction problems from card data, but tournament decisions should be checked against Wizards' current rules and banned/restricted pages.
